There’s something about having a clock ticking away in the peaceful atmosphere of your home.

Clocks are a great accessory piece and give a functional touch to a room.  With the various shapes and sizes and design choices available finding one that works with your decor is almost effortless. Decorative clocks, wall, mantel or Grandfather clocks have again gained popularity because they’re easier to place on a hard to decorate wall than the other forms of wall décor. The biggest problem is showing it off in a place where it will be appreciated.

Most people will get a clock and basically place it on a wall or floor in the center of a room. But why not add some style and get a bit creative. Hanging wall clocks in multiples, all set to precisely the same time, is a way to make a space look very attractive. Multiple clocks don’t all have to be the same exact style either. If you can find timepieces that are the same in design, but have an option of different colors of the clocks, you can create some rather interesting and arrangements on your walls. Or if you have high ceilings try using a large Wall Clock to create a focal point.

Regardless of where they are placed, whether it is in the kitchen, living room, bedroom or den these beautiful clocks never fail to offer a warm and friendly feeling. With a little imagination, you can add some style to your home. Wall clocks such as pendulum clocks, cuckoo clocks, and grandfather clocks add style and elegance. That is what turns a house into a home.

A traditional kitchen is one of the more popular styles for kitchen designs throughout the country. The traditional kitchen style is a blend of English and American designs from the eighteenth- and nineteenth-century designs. For those looking for a longer lasting investment that is guaranteed to not be out of style in a decade, traditional kitchens are the clear choice.

Traditional kitchens are elegant and highly structured. Features might include: cherry or mahogany stained finishes, white painted glazed  finishes, fluting, blocks, rosettes, trims, beading, arched raised paneled cabinet doors, formal draperies, classic wallpaper patterns in rich dark stripes and flowered patterns with marble or granite counter tops. This is a classic kitchen style, and it should feel timeless. Traditional kitchens focus on the ornate details and fine craftsmanship of fine wood and stone. In any traditional kitchen design, the focus is on fine details such as a handcrafted wooden wall clock or other accessories.

Traditional style is about symmetry and balance. The door or doorway most frequently used to enter the kitchen should offer a view to a focal point. This can be a grand window over the sink or a large range with a finely detailed wood hood. The focal object should be centered in the cabinets on the focal wall. The objective is to create visual impact while making your kitchen function well.

Like no other room in your house, the kitchen must blend form with function. The kitchen should function well. It should be a place that inspires you to cook socializes.

One of the most popular and enduring styles in bathroom décor is the traditional style. Calming and comfortable a traditional decorated bathroom offers a sophisticated but understated look taking on the elegance of Old World Europe. Traditional décor tends to be more formal and luxurious than other bathroom styles, fixtures and furnishings have a classic but enduring appearance. Master baths, guest baths and powder rooms take on traditional style with a flourish.

Claw Foot Tub

When people think of a traditional styled bathroom, they often think about a bathroom decorated in classic Victorian style. This is not incorrect; there is a design element that is much more distinct in a traditional bathroom style- the bathtub. The tub is supposed to be the focal point in a traditional bathroom. An old-fashioned bathtub, such as a claw foot cast iron tub can greatly enhance a traditional style bathroom. These types of bathtubs should be your first choice in staying true to a traditional bathroom style and can be put in any area of a bathroom to create a great fixture.

Traditional Free Standing Vanity

A furniture-style double vanity bureau that is free standing with simple door details adds elegance and extra storage space to a traditional bathroom. A free-standing cabinet creates a custom feel not found with traditional built-ins. To add drama to the room use a dark colored wood such as mahogany for the crown modeling and wainscot panels or large mirrors on more than one wall to make the room seem larger. Countertops in a Natural stone such as Carrara marble are popular. The top should be in a light or medium neutral color with a polished, honed, or antiqued finish.

It’s important that the room is well lit.Natural light would be the best option, but is not always feasible. So, just make sure that the area is well lit with a chandelier or some other interesting but traditional light source. Wall-lamps or sconces, especially over wallpaper or wood paneling, look great and provide up lighting which helps get rid of shadows that are cast from overhead. Multiple and varied lighting choices are the best choices in a traditional bathroom just keep in mind for delicate lighting options choose warmer bulbs and avoid fluorescent or halogen lighting.

Decorating a bathroom includes choosing colors for not only the walls, but the tiles, accessories, faucets, towels, plants and pictures.  Traditional bathroom colors are neutral that can be easily worked with by choosing different tones for accent colors, bathroom rugs, and shower curtains. Some color won’t hurt and can even enhance an otherwise bland or monochrome bathroom design. Feel free to hang old or antique looking pictures on the wall, too. Decorations that are antique can help give it the traditional, homey feel.

Traditional styles have withstood the test of time. They add a touch of dignity and grace to your bathroom it’s a place where you can relax and unwind after a long day, so enjoy.

Traditional Dining Room

Good food is a pre-requisite of the good life and the dining room is a place that offers us the space to enjoy a meal with family members and friends as we discuss the day’s events. The formal family hub needs to be comfortable, yet cozy, so that it lifts the mood of every member, making the dining experience most sought after and adored. It is in fact one of the most important rooms in a house, this where we give enjoyment to our family or friends.

A traditional style dining room remains one of the most popular styles for home decorating. One of the reasons why decorating in traditional style is favored by so many people not only because of the ready availability of traditional style furniture and decor in department stores but also because of the understated elegance implied in the design.

This is one of the reasons a traditional style dining room remains one of the most popular styles for home decorating. A traditional dining room theme flairs with versatility since it can either be formal or casual depending on the items that you accentuate it with. The color is often mid-range tones traditional, but it can be very dark. Colored flowers are often the basis of a traditional color scheme, using the lighter color on the walls and dark colors for flooring and walls. The trim and molding is painted bright white. Cornice is common and adds to the formal aspect. Walls could be painted in a flat surface or wallpaper with framed prints usually arranged in balance symmetry.

Wood furniture will usually have a mix of straight and curved lines with light carving details. Wood pieces will often be finished with darker stains, a traditional room might also use lighter woods as long as the lines of each piece are classic. . Pairing treasured antiques with newer traditional pieces can create a nice contrast and enhance the traditional look. For example, an heirloom dining table could be paired with a more modern traditional dinnerware set.

The table is usually rectangular with a set of matched chairs placed evenly around the perimeter and a matching sideboard, buffet, or china cabinet that is centered on one wall all adds to the traditional style.

If the dining room is not right and does not give you a sense of home when you spend time in it with family and friends try changing the theme to a traditional style that is comfortable, warm and cozy.
