Country Cottage Decorating is a new, fresh approach to Country Decorating as we’ve known it. Country cottage decorating is cozy and has a timeless appeal. It’s one of the easiest styles to achieve due to the need for mixing and matching creating a comfortable, welcoming, vintage environment.

Country Cottage decorating colors are red, blue, green and yellow. The furniture in a Cottage Style home is often recycled, purchased from a flea market, or collected from family rejects. The key to authentic country cottage furniture styling is a simple, uncomplicated look. The wood pieces are usually painted in a lighter color and distressed. Nothing really needs to match yet the overall effect is charming and comfortable.

For country cottage accessories, have some vases in either a crystal or a white color with informal bouquets of country flowers in them. Dried flower arrangements work well. Good examples are old watering cans, old chance chocolate pots without the lid, and old silver plate coffee or tea pot.

The main thing to remember is its okay to bring a variety of items into the room. It doesn’t all have to match. It’s much better if it doesn’t. A Cottage home decor style is really a state of mind. If you want rooms that are comfortable, relaxed, cozy, simple and easy to maintain and update, then cottage style might be the perfect decorating style for you
