Ttuscan Kitchen

The Tuscan design style has become a popular trend in kitchen design. One reason is this design style is quite affordable while being stylish and providing a more comfortable kitchen. The Tuscan design style is known for its timeless beauty and Old World charm of natural materials, of warm and cozy colors. A Tuscan kitchen is functional, not fussy, and decorating in this theme is easy, it celebrates the simple things in life: Food, friends, and family.

The walls in a Tuscan kitchen have a unique, old-world look and should compliment your cabinetry… They should be painted in a rich Tuscan color such as rich reds, intense yellows, or strong yellows. Tuscan walls are not smooth they are more layered; so textured paints, faux finish paints, a textured additive to a latex paint or even rough plastering is a great ideas.

The “flooring of choice” in a Tuscan style kitchen typically is that of stone, marble, mosaic tile , Terra cotta, slate or clay tile and marble in intricate patterns. Wooden floors can be left plain with natural color and finish with a Persian rug

Tuscan kitchen cabinets typically are open, old and distressed looking with or without doors. The open look and feel of the open cabinets allows your collection of pots, pans, Tuscan-inspired dinnerware and ceramics to be displayed and add to the aura of the kitchen. This not only assists in bringing out additional colors, but it also serves its main purpose of providing adequate storage. In a Tuscany kitchen, often, cabinetry typically is not wall-to-wall. Cabinets in a Tuscan villa typically looked miss-matched; almost as if they can be moved about in the space like a piece of old antique furniture. The island is usually of a dark color painted on oak. Sometimes the islands are given one coat of white paint. Scratches, cracks, worm holes and distressing are added to give the wood a more antique look.

Material for counter tops follows the same line as all other Tuscan design ideas. Use of natural stones solid surface or tile counter tops are definitely the way to go. Color and design patterns within the surface can bring out color and tie in with your accessories and fabrics. A mosaic tile backsplash is often used for the final touch.

Traditional style decor is one of the most popular interior design themes. There are many varieties of the design style, a traditional style will leave you with a distinguished and polished look while retaining the comfort and luxury you love the most. But before you create a traditional style bedroom you must know what goes into a traditional living space. Colors are a big part of a traditional bedroom, soft colors like grays and brown lend themselves more towards a contemporary instead try to use rich colors like gold or jewel tones to pull out the true potential of a traditional living space.

Traditional bedrooms are cozy and comfortable they feature a mixture of patterns on the walls, beds, and windows. They are rich in detail and fabrics, with beds dressed in layers, pillow shams, bed skirts, and bedspreads with ruffles. Valances and curtains that flow to the floor held back with tiebacks, all accented by a fabric border along the top of the walls.

Traditional bedroom furniture is based on historical themes and gives a royal elegance to the bedroom.  It should be of fine woodworking, craftsmanship, graceful lines, a dark wood cherry or mahogany with intricate detail. Rich woods, wrought iron and brass are all popular traditional style elements. For example a brass lamp would be a great accent against the dark wood.

Some people simply consider a traditional bedroom as one that allows them  to enjoy a relaxed feeling and to express their personal tastes.  It is a perfect room to display favorite antiques, photographs, family heirlooms, or personal collections of memorabilia.

There are few places in the home where country decor can shine better than in the bedroom. All the warmth, welcome, and simplicity that characterize country decor are simply the most effective in bedroom décor. Country décor is cozy and snuggly, which is great for creating a relaxing haven. Your bedroom is not just for sleeping it is your private sanctuary, a place to just relax, read a book or an area of solitude.

When you are changing your bedroom décor to a country style theme, the first thing to consider is your bed.  If you are thinking of a wooden bed chose mahogany, oak, walnut or pine, or for iron bed is sure to use iron or brass. The remaining furniture doesn’t have to match but you should use the same type of wood or if you have a metal bed wood furniture can be a great compliment.

Bedding is certainly one of the most appealing parts of the decor and will set the tone of the room.

Quilts have been around for many years and when you want something that is aesthetically pleasing a quilt can be an excellent starting point.  They can be more than just bedding, a quilt can become a central display piece. Making quilts even more important to your decor, as it becomes the unquestionable focal point of your entire room. A quilt can be used as a base for colors and patterns.

Your choice of furniture is also important, for the decor in general and for your bedding. If the patterns of your bedding are simple, then it would be best to have simply designed furniture. If your patters are more complex and varied, then your furniture can follow suit.

When choosing your furniture it is important to work with the colors that you used in your bedding. If you are using a quilt with dark colors, then using a dark painted wood for your furniture would be best. If you have a lot of deep reds and browns a deep, rich stain to bring out natural wood grains would be the excellent choice. When lighter colors are the choice color then using a lighter colored wood is the best thing to use.  This can be accomplished by paint or light colored woods.

Setting up a home office is not something to be taken lightly or just taken for granted. It’s your business offioce  and needs to be designed and laid out professionally. You’re going to be working in this environment for several hours each day so make it the best it can be. Choosing the right space in your home for your work space is key in creating the perfect home office. The room you choose needs to have at least one window, two would be bettter. Having a good source of natural light in your office also allows you to keep plants and flowers which add dimension to your room.  It’s not always in the most obvious place and most homes have a room or at least part of a room that isn’t in use on a daily basis. it’s important to remember that you’ll be using this space for work. You want to minimize distractions wherever possible. Try and choose a room that’s away from a bathroom or another high traffic area in your home. You genuinely will need to dedicated at least a portion of your home or apartment to business only.

Let your imagination run wild and don’t conform. Don’t obey the rules. After all this office space is yours so do with it what you will. Break the mould of those old and stuffy home office designs.
