Tuscan wet bar

The Tuscan way of living is a relaxed way of living. A Tuscan style homes look as though it has been there forever.  Homes decorated in the Tuscan decorating style are inspired by the elements of nature using natural materials such as sandstone or limestone and marble which is used for decorative details, flooring, arches, and pillars. The look of Tuscan style decorating is rustic, warm, and inviting.

The color palette of the Tuscan style is made up of various ranges from yellow to the concentrated gold’s.  Tuscan colors include rich or subdued tones of umber, rusty red, ochre, apricot, orange, and peach tones, clear yellows, olive greens, and deep blue to help you decide on your color palette, I suggest you choose an inspiration piece. From here you can determine your color palette, matching the significant pieces of furniture or furnishings you intend to keep and decide on your primary and secondary (accent) colors.

Rustic as well as more traditional furniture styles work in Tuscany interior design. Furniture can be embellished by carving, intricate ironwork or even leather-tooled.  Wooden farmhouse tables are typically rectangular; they are usually made of solid wood with legs on the outer corners. They are often found with matching chairs and rush seats. When choosing Tuscan style furniture, it can be pretty simple. The furniture does not need to match all the time, and  typically it has an old, distressed look to it. Pieces of Tuscan furniture are often mismatched creating the genuine feel of a Tuscan farmhouse.

Decorating Tuscan style is fairly simple if you’re starting with a home that already has all the architectural features such as barreled ceilings, exposed beams, rugged stone walls and arched doorways. But, even I f you home does not have a Tuscan design you can still create a Tuscan mood, look and feel. The Tuscan decorating style is truly one of the most endearing home decor styles today.

traditional, tuscan living roomIf you crave luxury and elegance, have the home to provide the backdrop, and are searching for a look that will stand the test of time, traditional decorating is the style for you. Traditional style interiors are comforting and classic.

So what is traditional style decorating?  Traditional decorating is calm, orderly and predictable. Its furnishings are classic with furniture and accessories placed in pairs and centered in the room.  There is nothing out of place or different in style, everything looks as though it goes together.  A traditional room is somewhat casual and gives the home a comfortable feeling for all ages.

Traditional styled rooms feature warm, dark, rich finish woods, often with intricate carvings. The lines of the furniture tend toward elegance and sensuous curves. The traditional style furniture has ornate carvings which give a very majestic feel and a presence of finely crafted woodworking. Most traditional-style furniture is made from solid walnut, rosewood or mahogany and is usually kept in its natural color or enhanced using stains instead of paint.

It is easy to turn a traditional-style room into a cluttered space. Plan the furniture arrangement before you buy and always take the color and material palette with you when making decisions about furniture and fabrics.

Country Living Room

Country Living Room

Country home décor is the most sought after home interior and it’s no wonder since country décor invites a casual friendly lifestyle. Today country style designs are making a comeback and are warming up the homes that were once cold sleek and stylish.  Its design is a comfortable, lived in look that is casually elegant with a compliment of sturdy, practical furniture and colorful textiles.

Decorating with country style is not as hard or costly as you many think.  A few simple additions can turn your home into your own county haven. You might start with adding a wood element.  Wood is a sharp contrast to the cold bare look of today’s modern homes, it is casual, inviting and adds instant warmth to your home. And the best thing about it is it blends with just about any color; just add your favorite shade and you have got a country home with your own personal touch.

Consider painting or wallpapering the walls. For this theme the colors are important so try to keep the color scheme mellow and soft. Choose colors that have a hint of white/gray (or of their complementary color) in them.  Color wash the walls but keep the wash very light and subtle and stay within one color family. Try using paint with wallpaper borders on the walls, or try a matching wallpaper and border set. If you are afraid to put color on the walls you can cover the walls in a neutral shade and play up the color with accents like pillows, rugs and curtains.

Achieving a country look in your home can be as easy as buying new decorative accessories or as involved as replacing everything. Either way, paying attention to detail and making sure you match your furniture and decorative items will help you accomplish a decorative new country style home decor theme that you can be proud of. Just be consistent in your choice of home interior color, styles and materials so as to avoid a patchwork look that is indicative of bad planning

Your Bedroom is the last thing you see before you fall asleep and the first thing you see when you wake up. And when you’re not sleeping, it can be a hide-away to read, listen to music, or be with someone special. Your bedroom should be as soothing as it is stylish. The décor should be simple and dear to your heart so stick to colors and textures that are meaningful and relaxing to you.   A romantic bedroom has a way of pleasing all the senses and washing away life’s stresses.

There are many ways to decorate a bedroom using nothing but wall decor. When using wall decor you should first consider the theme of the entire bedroom. But in order to create a visual balance it is advisable to follow the common theme that is being used throughout the rest of the rooms in your home. Think about a wall that exposed brick, a wall painted a different color or a mural. You can even personalize the mural by having a romantic scene from you honeymoon.  I found this site www.muralsyourway.com . to be very informative.

Bedroom décor could be a simple as adding a vase of silk flowers or floral greenery to your bedroom. All you need is a vase a few silk or plastic flowers and greenery. Be sure to choose colors that will compliment the colors of your room; however they do not need to match the room exactly. The arrangement will not only enhance the decoration but the room as well. Wall decor doe not requires the use of decorating accessories such as wall hangings, pictures or photos. Any wall can be treated without these external aids very successfully and creatively.
Remember, your bedroom is about you.  It’s where you relax after a long day and share the moments that are exclusively yours.
